The EPA recently released interim recommendations for groundwater screening levels and preliminary remediation goals for PFOA and/or PFOS groundwater contamination that provide practical interim guidance for environmental professionals combatting these suggestive carcinogens.  PFOA and PFOS, once considered revolutionary chemicals for their resistance to water, soils, and stains, have been classified for some time as contaminants with health and environmental concerns due to their pervasiveness, their resistance to degradation, and their bio-accumulative nature.
